At the recently held 2024 Beijing Auto Show, the C+ class flagship sedan – the new Hongqi H9 was officially launched, with the official guiding price ranging from 329,800 yuan to 539,800 yuan.
For this innovation, the new Hongqi H9 has launched two front face styling versions of the “Luxurious Business Edition” and the “Private Style Edition”, and the interior adopts a brand-new three-dimensional dual-screen design. At the same time, the gearbox of the 3.0T series models has been upgraded to 8AT, and the steering handling performance of the entire series has been optimized. Combined with the upgrades of multiple luxury, comfort and safety configurations, it fully demonstrates the charm of the new car’s luxury advancement.
To have a more intuitive feeling of the upgraded strength of the new Hongqi H9, “Dachehui” also conducted a test drive of the new Hongqi H9 recently. Let’s take a look together.
Full-dimensional upgrade of interior styling
In terms of appearance, the new car basically continues the design of the current model, but there are obvious optimizations in details.
Among them, the front face of the Luxurious Business Edition is dignified and stable. The new styling of the 12-chrome grille, combined with the stable and upright bumper styling design, interprets the stable and dignified administrative business temperament. The “Private Style Edition” is positioned as sporty luxury. The new styling of the 10-dark-chrome grille, along with the blackening of the exterior trim strips of the entire vehicle, and the bumper styling design full of tension, interprets the sporty atmosphere ready to go.
On the side of the vehicle body, the new car also adopts a brand-new wheel rim style. At the rear of the vehicle, the details of the taillights have been optimized and there will be multiple lighting styles. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 5137mm/1904mm/1498mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 3060mm, basically the same as the current model.
In terms of the interior, it is the key point of the upgrade of the new Hongqi H9. The new Hongqi H9 breaks through the dullness and conservativeness of the traditional dual-screen. The brand-new three-dimensional dual-screen takes the Chinese scroll as the theme and conveys an elegant posture through flowing lines.
At the same time, the air conditioning outlets have also been changed to electric hidden air outlets. Passengers can drag the air outlet animation on the central control screen to adjust the air outlet direction of the air conditioning. In addition, the new Hongqi H9 has carried out 7 perception optimizations in positions such as the instrument panel, the driver and passenger seats, the doors, and the front windshield, highlighting the “protagonist” feeling of the users and reducing unnecessary visual and space “occupation”.
The rear row adopts a four-seat design, with a wide armrest in the center and a control screen in the rear row. The 3.0T model is also equipped with a one-click rest mode in the right rear C position. With just one click, all-round automatic adjustment can be achieved simultaneously, including a 125° inclination of the backrest, a 50mm extension of the seat depth, and rich functions integrated with heating, ventilation, massage and 8-way adjustment. At the same time, music, ambient lights, fragrance and massage linkage can also be realized. Moreover, the Luxurious Business Edition specially provides optional LC dimming glass and administrative small desks, providing a more private and stable official space.
Power upgrade, driving control at will
In terms of power, the new Hongqi H9 has three power options of 2.0T, 2.5T and 3.0T. Among them, the 2.0T is matched with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch, with a maximum power of 185kW and a maximum torque of 380N·m; the 2.5T is matched with a high-performance 8AT gearbox, with a maximum power of 223kW and a maximum torque of 420N·m.
The 3.0T V6 engine has been upgraded across the entire series, adopting the variable cam timing system (VCT) for both intake and exhaust and a mechanical supercharger with high boost and rapid response. The entire series has been upgraded to the ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox, with the maximum power reaching 248kW. Compared with the old 3.0T engine, the maximum power has increased by 40kW, and the maximum torque has increased from 400N·m to 445N·m, an increase of 11.25%. It can continuously provide surging power whether in urban or highway conditions. The zero to hundred acceleration is 6.4 seconds, and the WLTC fuel consumption has dropped to 8.52L/100km.
During the actual driving, “Dachehui” can clearly feel that the power of the 3.0T version is smoother. Especially, it also has a flexible shift strategy, which can freely map the shift strategy between multiple driving modes and multiple working conditions. When downshifting, there is a clear driving feeling of the car following the heart and the integration of man and vehicle.
Especially the intelligent four-wheel drive system, the only fully independent intelligent four-wheel drive system developed by Hongqi in China, its transmission efficiency is over 96%, and its overall performance is better than that of competing products. During driving, after the control knob enters the four-wheel drive mode, the vehicle can automatically identify the road conditions and the driving status of the entire vehicle, and intelligently distribute the torque of the front and rear wheels to improve the driving stability, maneuverability and脱困 ability of the vehicle.
In addition, the new Hongqi H9 has also optimized the intelligent driving assistance. In addition to the full-scene automatic parking and advanced cruise functions, the new car has upgraded the automatic emergency braking system (AEB). The dual precise detection of the visual camera + millimeter-wave radar can identify scenarios such as pedestrians crossing, pedestrians longitudinally, front vehicle braking, 50% rear-end collision, front vehicle slow driving, 50% frontal collision, etc., and achieve a maximum braking stop at 60km/h, which can effectively improve driving safety and reduce the risk of collision.
