Current-lineup note: the 2026 AVATR 07 originally entered the market with six REEV and EV configurations. The current official China configurator displays only the Elite REEV and Elite EV, while earlier Max+ and Ultra vehicles may remain in dealer inventory. A quotation should identify whether it covers the current two-version range, an earlier 2026 allocation or the newer AVATR 07L.
By July 2026, the AVATR 07 had become a simpler car to order from the factory and a more complicated car to identify in supplier stock. The original 2026 launch introduced six named configurations. The current official order page now shows two Elite models, yet Chinese dealer listings still contain Max+, Ultra, 52.01 kWh REEV and AWD vehicles from the earlier range.
Those listings cannot be compared by price alone. A low quotation may describe the standard 39.05 kWh Elite REEV, an earlier high-trim vehicle carrying a domestic discount or a car whose headline omits the optional 52.01 kWh battery. The approaching AVATR 07L also changes what buyers should expect from the smaller 07 in cabin space, intelligent-driving hardware and future resale positioning.
The useful question is therefore not simply “REEV or EV?” It is which commercial version of the 2026 AVATR 07 the supplier is actually offering.
The launch range and the current order screen tell different stories
At its September 2025 launch, the 2026 AVATR 07 covered Elite, Max+ and Ultra price levels across range-extender and battery-electric powertrains. The current official configurator has since been reduced to two Elite versions priced at RMB 219,900 and RMB 229,900.
This does not make every Max+ or Ultra advertisement incorrect. It means those vehicles should be treated as identifiable inventory rather than assumed to be part of the current factory order range.

The quotation should use the complete trim name, battery capacity and production month. Without those details, a buyer can easily compare a discounted earlier vehicle with a current Elite or mistake a 245 km REEV for the longer-range 333 km version.
One REEV badge can hide two different batteries
The standard Elite REEV combines a 39.05 kWh CATL LFP battery with a 231 kW rear motor. Its official CLTC electric range is 245 km and its combined range is listed at 1,115 km.
The optional 52.01 kWh CATL 5C battery changes the role of the vehicle. Official model information associates the larger pack with electric range of up to 333 km and a 30–80% fast-charge time of approximately ten minutes under the specified charging conditions.
39.05 kWh Elite REEV
245 km CLTC electric range
This is the lower-price current configuration. It works as an electric-first commuter when charging is regular, but the range extender will operate more frequently on longer daily routes.
52.01 kWh 5C REEV Option
Up to 333 km CLTC electric range
The larger battery pushes the REEV closer to EV-style daily use while preserving petrol-supported travel. It should not be priced as though it were the standard Elite battery.
This distinction is more useful than a general REEV-versus-EV argument. An importer serving buyers with home charging but unreliable intercity charging may find the 52.01 kWh REEV commercially stronger than either the base REEV or the full EV.
Owner reports on the range-extender version are mixed. Some describe smooth, quiet long-distance operation, while others notice more engine sound in cold conditions, at low battery state or during stronger acceleration. Isolated reports also mention a narrow-speed motor whine on particular vehicles. These are reasons to evaluate the selected unit in those specific conditions, not evidence that every AVATR 07 shares the same behavior.
The AVATR 07L has already changed the smaller 07’s commercial role
The AVATR 07L entered presale in July 2026 at RMB 249,900. It measures 4,910 mm long, uses a 2,990 mm wheelbase and introduces a newer Huawei Qiankun 896-line LiDAR and ADS 5 route.
The standard AVATR 07 remains 4,825 mm long with a 2,940 mm wheelbase. Its lower body, urban positioning and lower starting price still make sense, but it should no longer be sold as the only current five-seat AVATR SUV in this price band.
The distinction is practical:
- AVATR 07 suits buyers who prefer the more compact body, lower acquisition price and established ADS 4 platform.
- AVATR 07L is aimed at buyers who want more cabin length, a newer intelligent-driving platform and stronger family-lounge positioning.
- AVATR 11 remains the more expensive, more coupe-like flagship SUV route rather than a direct replacement for either 07.
An older Max+ or Ultra 07 may still be an attractive purchase, but its discount should be judged against the current Elite range and the newly available 07L—not only against its original launch price.
Three design decisions matter more abroad than in a Chinese showroom
The digital package carries part of the vehicle’s price
The current Elite specification includes a 192-line LiDAR, three 4D millimeter-wave radars, eleven cameras, twelve ultrasonic sensors and Huawei Qiankun ADS Max hardware. The cabin uses HarmonySpace 5, a 35.4-inch panoramic display and a 15.6-inch Huawei center screen.
That hardware is a major reason the AVATR 07 costs more than a conventional five-seat SUV. After export, however, account services, map-dependent functions, mobile-app control, OTA access and higher-level ADS functions may not reproduce the mainland-China experience. Some functions are also identified by the manufacturer as requiring later OTA activation or a separately purchased package.
The vehicle can still retain strong value through its displays, cameras, safety functions, cabin materials and basic driver assistance. The buyer should simply avoid paying a high intelligent-driving premium based on functions that have not been demonstrated in the destination environment.
The rear window has no conventional wiper
The AVATR 07’s rear design does not use a normal rear-window wiper. In dry urban use this may be a minor detail; in heavy rain, road spray, snow, dust or unpaved operation it can affect the usefulness of the glass rear view.
A digital interior mirror can reduce dependence on the rear window, but its presence and operation should be confirmed on the actual configuration. This is particularly relevant when luggage or rear passengers already restrict the conventional sightline.
Electronic mirrors and 21-inch wheels are not neutral options
The 20-inch 255/50 R20 setup is the easier replacement route for many export markets. The optional 21-inch 265/45 R21 package improves the stance but can narrow tire availability and increase replacement cost.
Electronic exterior mirrors are also available through an option package. They may provide a wider, brighter view in rain and darkness, but the destination must accept camera-based mirrors for registration, and replacement cameras or display modules may be harder to source than conventional mirror glass.
The most visually advanced configuration is therefore not automatically the easiest vehicle to retail or support.
When the 650 km EV is the wrong answer
The Elite EV has an 82.16 kWh CATL Shenxing battery, a 252 kW rear motor and an official 650 km CLTC range. Its 800V architecture supports a quoted 30–80% charge time of approximately ten minutes and gives the EV a clear technical advantage where high-power charging is available.
That advantage becomes less valuable when the destination relies on low-output public chargers, incompatible charging hardware or apartment parking without reliable overnight charging. In those markets, the REEV can be easier to explain and operate even though the EV has the cleaner powertrain and larger luggage capacity through its 90 L front compartment.
The EV is the stronger choice when:
- the owner has dependable private charging;
- the local charging network can use a meaningful portion of the 800V platform’s capability;
- daily and intercity routes are predictable;
- and buyers value quiet operation more than petrol-supported flexibility.
The larger-battery REEV is more coherent when the owner wants EV-style commuting but cannot depend on fast charging during every long journey. The standard 39.05 kWh REEV remains the price-led route.
Four questions that identify the right 2026 AVATR 07
Why do some listings show six trims when AVATR’s current configurator shows only two?
The 2026 model originally launched with Elite, Max+ and Ultra configurations across REEV and EV powertrains. The current official configurator displays the Elite REEV and Elite EV, while earlier Max+ and Ultra vehicles may remain in dealer stock.
Does every Elite REEV have the 333 km battery?
No. The standard Elite REEV uses a 39.05 kWh battery and is rated at 245 km CLTC. The 333 km figure belongs to the optional 52.01 kWh 5C battery package, which should be identified separately in the quotation.
Should a buyer choose the AVATR 07 or wait for the 07L?
The standard 07 remains the lower-price, more compact urban SUV. The 07L adds body length, wheelbase and a newer ADS 5 hardware route. Buyers prioritizing city size and price may still prefer the 07; buyers prioritizing cabin space and the latest intelligent-driving generation should compare the 07L.
Does the China-market ADS 4 package retain full value after export?
The physical LiDAR, radar, cameras and basic assistance hardware remain part of the vehicle, but map coverage, accounts, app services, OTA access and higher-level functions can be region-dependent. The export price should reflect the functions that can actually be used, not only the China-market feature list.
